OneClick

Work out who's owed what from a royalty statement and your contracts or split sheets.

Before you start

OneClick works out who is owed what from a royalty statement and the contracts or split sheets behind it. You need two things: the contracts or split sheets as PDFs, and the royalty statement as an Excel (XLSX) or CSV file.

Streaming master royalties only
OneClick currently reads master royalties from streaming earnings. Split sheets that cover publishing only won't be picked up.

One track at a time

OneClick is built for master royalties from streaming, worked out one track at a time. For each run, choose the contracts or split sheet for that one track and the royalty statement that lists its earnings. To pay several tracks, run OneClick once for each.

How it works

1

Pick an artist

Go to Tools → OneClick. On the Calculate tab, choose the artist under Select Artists. This opens the OneClick Royalty Calculator for that artist.
2

Add the contracts

In Upload Contracts, use Upload New to add PDFs (pick the project they should be saved to), or Select Existing to open one of the artist's projects and tick the contracts and split sheets already there.
3

Add the royalty statement

Do the same in the statement card: upload an XLSX or CSV file, or select one already in a project. Use the Currency button on the card to say which currency the statement is in.
4

Calculate

Press Calculate Royalties, check the files in Review your selection, then press Confirm & Calculate. OneClick shows its progress as it reads the contracts and matches them to the statement.
5

Answer any questions

If a clause is unclear, OneClick stops and asks (Something in your contract isn't clear) rather than guessing. Answer what you can and press Continue. If you pick I'm not sure, that payment is put on hold instead.
6

Review costs, if asked

When someone is paid on net income, OneClick shows Review costs to recoup: the project's expenses that can come off this statement. Adjust or skip any of them, then press Confirm & finalize. See the Expenses guide for how costs are recouped.

Reading the results

The results open with four figures: Songs processed, Total payees, Total revenue and, highlighted, Total to pay. Below them, Royalty Distribution charts who gets what and lists every payment line by line in the Royalty Breakdown. Earnings Breakdown splits the statement by country, time period, source or vendor where the statement has those columns.

Payments on hold

OneClick only counts an amount as owed when everything behind it was read from your documents or confirmed by you. Anything else shows greyed out as not counted yet. Click it to see Why this isn't counted yet. Where it's allowed, Count it counts the amount as an estimate; Keep it out leaves it on hold. Amounts waiting for the label to earn back its costs stay on hold until it has.

Change my answers

Change my answers (under the breakdown) shows what would change before anything is saved. Changing an answer is free. Adding a note means OneClick has to read the contract again, so that runs as a new calculation and uses a OneClick run.

How was this calculated?

Press How was this calculated? to ask Zoe about this result. Zoe already has the calculation in front of it, and each answer costs a Zoe message.

Paying and sharing

Pay Royalties takes you to Royalty Tracking with everyone who's owed already ticked. Export downloads the results as CSV, Excel or PDF, and Save to Drive appears when Google Drive is connected. Show amounts in converts the breakdown to another currency for viewing only; payments keep the statement's currency.

Credits

A run is charged only when its results reach you. Pausing for questions isn't charged, and a run that fails isn't either.

Calculate Royalties vs Recalculate
Pressing Calculate Royalties again with the same contracts and statement brings back the saved result, and you won't be charged twice for it in the same billing period. Recalculate (on the results) reads everything again from scratch and is charged again each time, so use it only after you change something.

Deleting files and starting over

Payouts are a record of money that moved, so deleting a file never removes a payout, paid or not.

Deleting a contract removes the saved OneClick results that used it. Amounts that came only from that contract are removed from Royalty Tracking; amounts that other contracts also cover stay. If someone was already paid more than they're now owed, the difference shows as a credit. You're shown what will change before the contract is deleted.

Deleting a royalty statement removes its saved OneClick results, but the amounts it added to Royalty Tracking stay. That way a corrected statement can replace the old numbers (Replace old numbers) without losing your payment history.

To start a project over, open the project's Settings tab and press Clear royalty entries (project owner only). It clears the project's royalty entries and saved OneClick results, and the next run works them out from scratch; payout records are kept. To remove a single unpaid payout, use ⋯ → Cancel payout on its draft.

If something goes wrong

If OneClick can't find the song titles or amounts in your statement, it lists the columns it found. Press Choose columns to point it at the right ones.

Calculating a statement that covers the same songs and period as an earlier one asks Is this an updated version of an earlier statement? Choose Replace old numbers for a corrected statement (your payment history is kept) or Keep both for new earnings.

Best results
Use text-based PDFs rather than scans. No contract? Make a split sheet with the Split Sheet Generator and use that in OneClick instead.
